In the heart of San Diego, just a short walk from the ocean, Solara’s Pacific Beach facility was created to be a world-class sanctuary for U.S. military veterans. This peaceful setting is a premier alternative to hospitalization, designed specifically to provide an immersive and structured environment where and veterans can focus on intensive healing.
Just blocks from the ocean in iconic Pacific Beach, our luxurious studio residences blend coastal luxury with top-tier psychiatric care. Paired with our adjoining treatment center, this setting redefines what’s possible in mental health recovery.
Calm, upscale, and fully furnished, each studio is designed to support comfort and healing. Veterans enjoy a peaceful, pet-friendly space with chef-prepared meals and a setting that promotes emotional regulation and uninterrupted recovery.
At our Pacific Beach facility, we provide specialized, veteran-exclusive psychiatric care within a structured, healing environment designed to foster profound and sustainable recovery. Every aspect of our treatment center is intentionally crafted to respect and support veterans through expert clinical care, holistic practices, and peer-driven community connection.
We understand that starting the journey to recovery can feel overwhelming. That is why we have a clear, supportive, and structured process to guide you from your first call to your transition home.
Extend care beyond our main facility with programs tailored for Native American veterans and military families in Montana.
Solara offers a unique combination of three key elements: a military-exclusive peer community where you are surrounded by others who share your background; a truly integrated treatment model that blends top-tier clinical therapies (like EMDR and CPT) with holistic methods (like yoga and biofeedback); and a world-class, private environment that ensures your dignity and comfort.
Many of our clients have felt this way. Our approach is different because it addresses the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—not just symptoms. By combining talk therapy with modalities that regulate the nervous system and address somatic experiences, and by immersing you in a validating peer community, we address healing from multiple angles, which can be effective even when other methods have failed.
Holistic treatment refers to therapies that complement our core clinical work by addressing your overall well-being. At Solara, this can include a range of activities such as trauma-informed yoga, mindfulness and meditation, art therapy, breathwork, acupuncture, and biofeedback. These are integrated into your weekly schedule to help reduce stress, regulate your nervous system, and provide new avenues for healing.
You will stay in a spacious, modern, and fully furnished studio residence. It is a comfortable, dignified space designed for your personal comfort and healing, allowing you to have a sanctuary to return to after a day of therapeutic work.
We welcome service animals and companion pets (primarily dogs and cats). Your pet can stay with you in your private residence at no extra cost. You are responsible for their care (feeding, walking, etc.). You must provide up-to-date health and vaccination records, and your pet must be well-behaved. To remove any barriers, we will even cover the travel costs for both you and your pet.
A typical day is structured to promote healing and routine. It generally includes a mix of individual therapy sessions, multiple group therapy sessions (on topics like skills training or trauma processing), holistic activities, chef-prepared meals, and personal time for reflection and rest.
Absolutely. Solara is committed to protecting your privacy at every step. All care is governed by strict ethical standards and HIPAA laws. From your first call, we’ll explain exactly how your information is protected and ensure you feel safe, informed, and respected.
Our admissions team is here to make it easy. We’ll start with a no-cost, confidential benefits verification and work directly with the VA Community Care Network (CCN) to secure the necessary authorizations. If you’re eligible for VA care, we’ll handle the paperwork—so you can focus on healing, not red tape.
The length of stay is tailored to your specific clinical needs. A typical stay in our Residential Treatment Center (RTC) program ranges from 4 to 12 weeks.
