Built on What Works

Our Approach

We follow a clear, four-phase care model rooted in evidence, shaped by your needs, and responsive to your progress at every step.

Step One

Comprehensive Assessment

We start with a multi‑disciplinary evaluation—psychiatric, medical, psychological, and social to build a 360° picture of your needs.

Step Two

Personalized Treatment Plan

Your plan blends gold‑standard therapies (CBT, DBT, EMDR) with holistic modalities (yoga, mindfulness, nutrition, and recreational therapy).

Step Three

Integrated Family & Community Support

We collaborate with spouses, partners, and the VA to ensure continuity of care and smoother transitions home.

Step Four

Outcome‑Driven Care

Progress is measured weekly with validated tools. Data inform real‑time adjustments so you’re always on the most effective path forward.

Award-Winning Platform

Our Accreditation

Solara Mental Health has held the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® since 2009—an honor awarded only to programs that consistently meet or exceed the nation’s most rigorous standards for safety, quality, and patient privacy. Independent surveyors conduct unannounced, on‑site reviews every three years, scrutinizing everything from medication protocols and infection control to staff credentials and emergency preparedness.

For you, this seal means objective proof that your care is delivered by a team and in a setting the country’s leading healthcare authority has vetted and verified—so you can focus on healing, not second‑guessing.

Frequently Asked Questions

We work exclusively with U.S. Military Veterans who have an authorization through the VA Community Care Network (PC3/CCN) or TriWest Healthcare Alliance. Not sure if you qualify? Call our admissions team at 844-600-9747—we’ll verify your eligibility while you’re on the phone and guide you through any VA paperwork.

To keep out‑of‑pocket costs at zero for Veterans, we partner only with the VA Community Care Network and TriWest. If you don’t yet have VA benefits—or if your claim is still in process—contact us; we can often help you secure coverage or find an interim solution.

Most Veterans progress from first call to first therapy session (on‑site or via telehealth) within 24–72 hours. We handle benefit verification, travel planning, and clinical prescreening immediately so you don’t lose momentum.

  • Residential Treatment (RTC): 24/7 structured care in a home‑like, ocean‑side setting.
  • Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) :  5–6 hours of therapy and skills groups on campus, five days a week.
  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) : 3–4 treatment hours, three to five days a week, on campus.

Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (VIOP) : the same IOP curriculum delivered through our secure, HIPAA‑compliant telehealth platform.

Your admissions clinician will recommend the level that best matches your clinical needs, safety considerations, and life obligations. One call to 844-600-9747 starts that conversation.

Individual therapy, psychiatry follow‑ups, and IOP groups can be accessed via our secure, HIPAA‑compliant video platform. PHP and Residential Treatment must be completed in person due to federal guidelines, but we’ll coordinate VA‑funded travel if you qualify.

  • Residential: 30–45 days on average
  • PHP/IOP: 2–6 weeks, depending on your goals

Your stay is always personalized; clinical milestones dictate your discharge date, not a calendar.

Primary and co‑occurring diagnoses common among Veterans, including:

If you’re experiencing several issues at once, our integrated team can address them together.

Healing happens faster with support. We offer:

  • Weekly clinician‑led family calls
  • Optional family therapy sessions (in person or virtual)
  • Education on PTSD, coping, and relapse prevention

Your loved ones can participate as much—or as little—as feels safe for you.

Service animals are always welcome. Personal pets may be approved on a case‑by‑case basis. Let admissions know during your first call so we can arrange housing, outdoor space, and local veterinary support.

  • Private or semi‑private rooms just two blocks from the Pacific Ocean
  • Chef‑prepared, dietitian‑approved meals (including dietary accommodations)
  • Fitness/yoga
  • Secure Wi‑Fi
  • On‑site laundry

Everything is designed to feel restorative, not institutional.

If you receive a VA Community Care authorization for Residential, PHP, or IOP, the VA often covers flights, ground transport, and lodging. We’ll book everything on your behalf and send you an itinerary within hours of approval.

  • Board‑certified psychiatrists & psychologists
  • Licensed therapists (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC)
  • Nurse practitioners & 24/7 nursing staff
  • Case managers & peer support specialists trained in military culture

You’ll meet with each core provider at least once per week.

Before discharge you’ll receive a personalized after‑care plan including:

  • Follow‑up appointments at Solara or your local VA clinic
  • Telehealth check‑ins
  • Community resources (support groups, housing, vocational programs)

Our alumni coordinator stays in touch for 12 months to help you stay on course.
