MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS FOR VETERANS
Phase of Life Problems
Major life changes come in a variety of ways, such as illness, divorce, retirement and becoming an “empty-nester.” When these life changes come, individuals can react in a variety of ways like emotionality, developing feelings of loss, hopelessness and aimlessness. Left unchecked, these feelings can negatively influence a person’s ability to function at work and other normal activities, damage relationships with friends and family and even lead to the development of mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression.
Solara Mental Health understands the unique struggles that major life changes can cause in a person’s life. Our Mental Health Treatment Center’s program in San Diego is specifically designed to help with these challenges. Treatment is founded on regular individual psychotherapy sessions, which are conducted by one of our expert clinicians. Through psychiatric therapy, veterans gain greater insight into their feelings and struggles. This helps them come to terms with the changes in their lives and develop concrete techniques for handling those challenges. Individual therapy sessions are supplemented with other therapeutic modalities such as group therapy and holistic therapies, which are designed to give veterans a comprehensive, personalized treatment experience that lays a strong foundation for lasting healing.
