Anxiety Management Group

It’s normal to get anxious occasionally – when preparing for public speaking, or when you’re worried about financial stability or going through a challenging time. However, if you’re finding yourself anxious regularly, and the anxiety is preventing you from living your life, it might be time to look into treatment for anxiety disorder. Read more to see if an anxiety treatment program in San Diego could be right for you.

Should You Seek Treatment for Anxiety?

There are many signs that anxiety is overtaking your life. If you are experiencing the following symptoms regularly, you might want to get some professional treatment:

Excessive worry is the first sign of generalized anxiety disorder. If you’re experiencing anxious thoughts most days for six months, you may benefit from anxiety therapy.

Sleep problems are associated with many health problems, but if you’re lying awake worrying, or your mind is racing at bedtime, treatment can help.

Irrational fears can lead to more acute anxiety. If you have an overwhelming fear (such as flying or crowds) that is preventing you from living your daily life, look into anxiety treatment. You can overcome your phobias and live a fuller life.

Muscle tension is often a sign that you need anxiety disorder treatment because your mind and body are constantly on edge. You may even stop noticing the tension until someone else, like a masseuse, points it out.

Chronic indigestion is another common physical symptom of this psychological disorder. Treatment can help with both of these symptoms.

Panic attacks are terrifying. If you experience them repeatedly, there’s a high chance you could benefit from inpatient treatment for anxiety. A panic attack occurs without warning and can last for several minutes. During a panic attack, it’s typical to experience a racing heart, difficulty breathing, dizziness, stomach pain, and other physical symptoms. Our inpatient anxiety treatment center is familiar with the signs and symptoms of panic attacks and can help you overcome them.

People with anxiety disorders often insist upon perfectionism, especially if they have OCD (a type of anxiety disorder). If you’re always worrying about making mistakes and insist on everything being perfect, this may be a manifestation of your anxiety, just like any other compulsive behaviors. Anxiety disorder treatment centers are familiar with this symptom and can help you overcome it.

How is Anxiety Diagnosed?

It is often difficult to get an accurate diagnosis of anxiety-related disorders. General Anxiety Disorder can be confused for another physical or mental health disorder or go unrecognized entirely. The symptoms of anxiety, like rapid heartbeat and gastrointestinal distress, are sometimes attributed to other unrelated medical conditions.

The medical diagnosis for General Anxiety Disorder is based on the examination of a patient’s past and present behavior. A thorough evaluation of current and previous symptoms is performed by a psychiatric professional to get an accurate picture of the patient’s experiences with anxiety. A doctor will review the patient’s behavior and examine how anxiety has interfered with their everyday life. This can include anxiety’s adverse effects on family, friends, work, and school. The patient’s family history is also examined, as well as their history with drug and alcohol abuse. These factors can contribute to the overall diagnosis of General Anxiety Disorder.

In-Residence Anxiety Treatment

If you or someone you love is suffering from these symptoms, it’s time to start looking for an anxiety treatment center where the patient lives in-residence. It can be challenging to commit to an immersive program for anxiety treatment (many people think that in-residence treatment is only for alcoholism and other addictions), but taking the time to focus entirely on your anxiety with the help of mental health professionals can make a huge difference very quickly.

It is common to also suffer from depression when anxiety is present, which is why there are many joint treatment facilities for anxiety and depression. Treating either one of these disorders can improve the other, but the best results come from treating them both at the same time. A professional counselor can help you learn strategies to cope with both disorders, and inpatient treatment for anxiety and depression is often the fastest way to overcome them.

Our San Diego Anxiety Treatment Program

At Solara Mental Health, we offer the professional assistance that you need.

To supplement individual psychotherapy sessions and other individualized therapeutic modalities, our San Diego psychiatric facility offers an anxiety management therapy group.  Our mental health center is a safe, supportive environment, led by one of our expert clinicians.  Our anxiety treatment program is designed to help veterans with anxiety gain greater insight into their thought processes, underlying beliefs, symptoms, and triggers. The group facilitator will guide discussions.  However, this is primarily a space for veterans to come together as peers, learning from one another’s experiences and moving forward on the path to recovery.

One of the most significant benefits of inpatient anxiety treatment centers is that you get to spend time with peers who also suffer from anxiety. You can learn from each other’s strategies for managing anxiety and support one another during difficult times.

Recovery from Generalized Anxiety Disorder

If you’re researching immersive, in-residence treatment programs, it’s most likely because you’ve realized that your anxiety is holding you back from living the life you want.  You want to be able to participate fully in the world.  But your anxiety and depression are preventing you from taking risks and being in certain situations.  Anxiety can feel overwhelming and impossible to escape from, but you’ve already taken a huge step just by finding this website.

Our professional team has helped many people overcome their disorder.  Our veterans find that they are able to sleep better, have more fun, and feel more relaxed after going through our treatment program. You’re not the only one to suffer from an anxiety disorder, and we’re here to help.

Even though I’m not religious, I realized when I got sober that for the first time in my life I wanted to explore my spiritual side. I benefited hugely from the individual spiritual sessions that I had with Chris. I’m really grateful for that aspect of the whole treatment experience.

The program has given me the tools I needed to really gain stability. For the first time in years - maybe for as long as I can remember, actually, I’m learning how to cope and manage my stressors and triggers. I now believe that I can find some relief and happiness.

M.P. – Father

Your program provided our daughter with the most masterful therapist we have ever encountered (and we have used many).  She has had an unbelievable ability to see the long-term trajectory of our daughter’s treatment and to approach her treatment in stages that fit where my daughter’s development was.  We can’t say enough positive about her.

R.M. – Father

If not for Solara Mental Health, I am almost positive that our daughter would not be as advanced in her treatment, and would not have the almost miraculous confident and positive outlook that she has.

Alex

I have never felt better than I do now, since completing your program. The truly caring and supportive staff and the intensive program changed my life. What a neat place to stay for treatment - I love Pacific Beach! I have learned skills and behavior to move forward with my life thanks to you.
