Seeking Safety Group
Feeling safe is a crucial part of fully engaging in the therapeutic process, particularly for people with mental health disorders that stem from emotional dysregulation. For veterans with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance abuse, or other emotional dysregulation-related illnesses, Solara Mental Health provides a therapy group whose purpose is to help its members feel safe and secure. This feeling of safety comes first through the compassionate, nonjudgmental environment that the group fosters. One of the kind, experienced clinicians at our mental health treatment center will lead the group in discussions designed to help veterans learn concrete techniques for coping with their disorders, such as ways to develop compassion and how to ask for help. Through these discussions, veterans gain added insight that is specific to their needs, and gain tools to help them find emotional balance, self-regulation and overall wellness.
